World Cancer Day

Cancer is the second most common cause of death in Poland.

The most common cancer in women is breast cancer. Every tenth woman suffers from breast cancer due to an inherited predisposition.  It is estimated that approximately 150 thousand  Polish women are carriers of mutations that increase the risk of breast cancer and ovarian cancer.

The main reason why breast cancer is the most common cause of death in women is late-stage diagnosis, in advanced stage. Medical progress means that early detection of breast cancer allows for complete cure in most cases.

Early assessment of the congenital risk of disease and the use of appropriate prevention, including regular diagnostic tests (mammography, ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging), are becoming more and more available.

Genomed SA laboratory performs comprehensive preventive examinations for people from families with breast and/or ovarian cancer.

Genetic testing uses the Next Generation Sequencing method by analysis of coding sequences of 18 genes responsible for the development of breast cancer (test code: FEM-NGS).

This test is available until May with a 15% discount using the code FEMFB15%.

Possibility of purchase through the website: FEM-NGS test
